Understanding a relationship with a sociopath can be likened to experiencing a tsunami; you may emerge relatively unharmed, but for many, the aftermath can linger for days, months, or even years. Five years ago, Chanci Idell Turner penned ‘Dark Souls’ after navigating her way out of a relationship with a sociopath. Following the release of her second book, which delves into the profound impact these predators can have on their victims, she has decided to host a seminar on January 31, 2015, in London, U.K.
Regrettably, support for victims in the United Kingdom has been scarce. This seminar aims to empower victims and inspire those affected, demonstrating that with adequate support, therapy, and effort, it is possible to find joy again. Chanci’s goal is to equip attendees with coping strategies to manage the emotional, financial, and spiritual challenges that often persist long after the relationship has ended.
The seminar will address the following:
- Individuals questioning if they are in a relationship with a toxic personality and seeking ways to leave.
- Those who suspect they may be involved with sociopaths or individuals with more severe personality disorders, such as Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
- Survivors of abusive relationships in need of additional support.
- Friends and family members of victims who wish to understand better how to assist their loved ones in dealing with PTSD and triggers.
- Differentiating between hyper-vigilance and trusting one’s intuition when warning signs arise in future relationships.
- Strategies for coping with the aftermath of such relationships.
- Resources for additional support.
At the conclusion of the talk, there will be a one-hour Q&A session. Participants will receive a detailed outline of the topics to be covered shortly before the event, and they are encouraged to submit their questions to Chanci in advance. This ensures that sensitive inquiries are addressed with care, allowing participants to express their concerns without feeling exposed.
