Research on Senior Sociopaths Published in a Scientific Journal
Contrary to popular belief, research from Lovefraud Education and Recovery indicates that symptoms of antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) or psychopathy do not necessarily lessen with age. Respondents reported on romantic partners, family members, or friends over 50 with ASPD traits; an overwhelming 93% noted that their antisocial behaviors persisted or worsened with age. The findings are documented in the paper titled “Surviving Senior Psychopathy: Informant Reports of Deceit and Antisocial Behavior in Multiple Types of Relationships,” co-authored by Donna Anderson and researchers from the University of Otago. This study challenges the status quo in the psychology field and was published in the International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology.
