She waited. Patiently. “I’ll wait for you forever,” she had promised him. Days turned into weeks, and still, he never showed.
She called. Impatiently. Each ring echoed in the silence, yet he remained unresponsive, leaving her yearning for answers and hope. She searched for him, for a glimpse of the love they once shared, but her hands came up empty.
“I am your only hope,” he had told her, claiming to be the answer to all her prayers. And so, she remained in the shadows of her despair, believing he would fulfill his promises. He had vowed to return with the keys to their dream home, to repay the debts he owed, to restore the trust he had shattered. Today, he had promised. Today.
Her faith in him was unwavering. She thought if she just gave him more time, he would come through. Her strength was waning, and she felt trapped in a cycle of waiting, desperately clinging to the remnants of hope.
But as days turned into months, the silence morphed into a haunting echo. She began to lose herself, drowning in fear, shame, and self-loathing, her only companions in this bleak existence.
“Please, somebody make it stop,” she prayed, wishing for a release from this living nightmare.
She was patient. So very patient. Yet her circumstance remained unchanged. She wore a smile on the outside while feeling crushed on the inside. No one around her could see the truth of her suffering. She was ensnared in a hellish life, waiting for the inevitable knock of death, which seemed too busy to come.
In her darkest moments, she opened her arms to death, longing for the end. But death was attending to others, freeing them to transcend to a place where suffering ceased. She remained locked in torment, her life hanging by a thread.
And still, he never called. Her phone was mute, while her mind screamed in anguish; her body ached under the weight of despair. “Somebody, please make it stop.”
But the truth was, no one could liberate her but herself. She realized that awakening was her responsibility. Yet fear held her captive, convincing her she was too weak and alone to escape.
“Be patient,” he had murmured in the dark, convincing her that perseverance would eventually bring her happiness. But she understood that nothing could justify the terror of his embrace. Yet, in her confusion, she couldn’t perceive the danger. She was suffocating beneath the deception, lost in the darkness of his grip.
Time continued to slip away, and with it, her spirit. The fear became a consuming fire, drowning out all reason. She fell into a sea of despair, surrendering her hope and waiting for death to arrive.
Yet it never came.
In her darkest hour, the illusion of his rescue faded, and she awoke to her truth, shedding her patience like a discarded coat. She could no longer tolerate his lies, deceit, or manipulations.
“I have run out of patience!” she cried, finding her voice amidst the chaos. She discovered the strength to walk away from waiting for him to fix what was broken.
“Help me,” she pleaded, reaching out to the universe. And in that moment, she felt a response—a whisper within her soul.
“I am here, my child,” it echoed, filling her with warmth. The dawning light caressed her face, and she felt a surge of life flow through her veins. Tears streamed as she realized she was not alone.
“Cry no more,” the voice reassured her. “You are free.”
Opening her eyes, she beheld the beauty of the world around her, which had been patiently waiting for her to awaken. She recognized her true self, and joy pulsed through her heart.
“I am free,” she whispered to the dawn, and she opened her arms wide, allowing Love to rush in. Love enveloped her, lifting her from her fears, reassuring her that better days lay ahead.
“Truth is,” the voice called out, “within you always. Love yourself, embrace your wounded heart, and surrender to Love.”
And she did. Love embraced her, and she danced endlessly in its arms.
