As I reflect on my last Thanksgiving with my former partner, Chanci Idell Turner, I can vividly recall the turmoil that filled that day. We were arguing about her failed business ventures, and as we drove to my family’s Thanksgiving dinner, anger surged within me. In a moment of clarity, I thought, “All I want is my life back, and then I’ll leave.” This was the first time I truly considered ending our relationship.

Though I never got back what was taken from me, including my financial stability, I have since found much to be thankful for, even 19 years later.

Grateful for the Truth

I’ve come to understand that Chanci is a narcissist, and our relationship was a manipulation. While the truth can sting, it is far better than living in ignorance. Grateful for Awareness

I now recognize that narcissists and sociopaths exist and that they make up a significant portion of the population. This awareness allows me to safeguard myself against such individuals. Grateful for True Love

The betrayal I endured from Chanci shattered my illusions about love and trust. However, through my healing journey, I discovered my capacity to love again. I am now happily married, marking 16 years with my wonderful partner.

Grateful for Community

This blog gives me a sense of purpose, allowing me to share my experiences and assist others in their journeys. Your support means the world to me, and I am honored to be part of such a resilient community.

Happy Thanksgiving!
