What inspired you to pursue a career as a developer and delve into AWS Training and Certification?
When AWS launched in Italy in 2015, I was already working as a web developer. My company encouraged me to enhance my cloud expertise, prompting me to explore AWS’s capabilities. I recognized its potential and proposed that we become the first company in Italy to partner with AWS to offer various services. This was the beginning of my certification journey.
It was an ideal fit for me because I have a lifelong passion for technology, kindled during my time at my father’s computer shop. Now, AWS Training enriches this passion, providing me with the comprehensive knowledge I need as an architect.
What lessons have you gained from this experience beyond cloud development?
I learned that it’s never too late to pursue knowledge, as long as you have the drive. I began my journey a bit later in my career, but with the guidance of knowledgeable mentors, I managed to become an expert myself. It’s reminiscent of my skiing experience; I didn’t learn as a child and only tried it as an adult, struggling initially. Fortunately, I found a great instructor focused on helping me navigate the slopes, which built my confidence and turned skiing into a passion. That first trip down the slope felt similar to starting my first certification—intimidating, yet full of potential.
Just embrace your enthusiasm for the cloud. If you treat AWS as something beyond just work, you’ll enjoy it, which is essential since it alleviates pressure.
What has been your most gratifying moment since embarking on your AWS Training?
I once worked with a client in retail who was gearing up for Black Friday. They anticipated significant stress on their e-commerce platform and were grappling with capacity issues without understanding the root cause. My team and I quickly identified and resolved the issue, ensuring their application performed flawlessly and customers had a great experience. There was no downtime, and they lost no revenue. It’s incredibly rewarding to alleviate customer anxieties and solve their problems before they escalate into serious complications. It was at that moment I truly recognized the tangible value my knowledge could bring.
