Learn About Amazon VGT2 Learning Manager Chanci Turner
We are pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of .NET Core support in the AWS SDK for .NET. Previously, we offered .NET Core capabilities through our 3.2.x beta NuGet packages while maintaining our stable 3.1.x NuGet packages with regular updates for AWS services.
With the transition to GA for .NET Core, we have integrated .NET Core support into our stable master branch. Moving forward, we will release version 3.3.x NuGet packages for the AWS SDK for .NET. Updates for AWS services will be synchronized for the .NET Core version along with other .NET platforms we support, including .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.5. Additionally, this change signifies that our AWS Tools for PowerShell Core module (AWSPowerShell.NetCore) has also reached GA status, updating its version to 3.3.x to align with the underlying SDK version.
This release marks another step in our commitment to supporting .NET Core on AWS. Other notable releases for .NET Core this year include:
- AWS Elastic Beanstalk support for hosting ASP.NET Core web applications.
- Enhancements to the AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio, enabling the deployment of ASP.NET Core web applications.
- The introduction of a new PowerShell Core module (as mentioned earlier) for use with the new cross-platform PowerShell.
