My Journey Through Narcissistic Abuse

At the conclusion of our honeymoon, he TRANSFORMED into an entirely different individual.

I encountered a covert malignant narcissist through an online dating platform, completely unaware of their existence. Four years after losing my wonderful husband of nearly 30 years to cancer, I was eager to find another meaningful relationship. With two master’s degrees, including one in psychiatric social work, I had always prided myself on my intuition and ability to read people—yet I was blindsided this time.

I met the narcissist on February 3, 2017, and for the first five months, I was engulfed in love bombing. He proposed after just six weeks, and we tied the knot on June 30, 2017. I failed to notice any warning signs; he was a master at maintaining his facade.

However, just two weeks and two days after the wedding, on the final day of our idyllic honeymoon, he abruptly TRANSFORMED into a different person. He erupted into a narcissistic rage over something he himself had done, and from that moment forward, everything changed.

Although I was devastated and my mind was reeling, I drew strength from my past experiences. Having had a loving and healthy marriage, I recognized what true love felt like. I made the difficult decision to kick him out after only five months.

Strangely, despite the appalling treatment I had endured, I found myself missing him. This prompted me to research and ultimately discover the concept of “narcissistic abuse,” which perfectly described my experience. I delved into the topic, reading 23 books on it! Following the “no contact” rule, I filed for divorce. The divorce process was a nightmare, thanks to him, but it was finally finalized in August 2018. Now, I am focused on healing and moving on, trying to rid my mind of the chaos he caused.

Such individuals are genuinely malicious.
