For current users of Thinkbox software, upgrading to Deadline version 10.1.23 or later means that floating licenses or Usage Based License (UBL) hours will no longer be necessary. Additionally, Draft will be available without cost. Existing Deadline license holders can keep using Draft until their license expires, after which they will be invited to upgrade to continue using Draft for free. New versions of Krakatoa, Frost, XMesh, and Stoke are also available for complimentary download.
To get started, you will need an AWS account. If you don’t have one, you can create it by following this link. Customers using older versions of Thinkbox products are encouraged to upgrade to the latest iterations to take advantage of new features. However, if you wish to continue with an existing version, you can log in to the AWS Management Console and download a Thinkbox floating license at no cost.
The floating license portal provides licenses for Deadline, Frost, Krakatoa, Stoke, and XMesh. Each product, except Draft, will come with a limit of 50K licenses that will expire after one year, but new license files can be downloaded whenever needed. Access the floating license portal here.
