After the breakup, I realized that everything I believed about him was a fabrication.
I had been in a relationship with a man I’ll refer to as “Jake” for four years. Out of nowhere, he ended things with me to pursue someone he had only known for two weeks.
Following the discard, I uncovered the shocking truth: all my assumptions about him were completely false. I learned that he had been unfaithful throughout our entire relationship—with at least ten confirmed partners. While I can’t definitively say any of them were women, I do have my doubts, especially after hearing rumors. I know he even tried to initiate a sexual encounter with a married friend and neighbor of ours.
The Confrontation
The real drama began when I confronted him about the infidelity and warned him that I would expose his lies if he didn’t leave me alone. That’s when the stalking began. He resorted to begging and pleading, sometimes even while on duty as a Police Officer, complete with his flashy car and police dog.
Taking Precautions
I took precautions, documenting every interaction and ensuring I had financial protection and custody of my pets. Nothing I said seemed to deter him, so I made the drastic decision to relocate 2,500 miles away, blocking all means of contact. I haven’t looked back since.
Although I hope he has moved on, I can’t shake the feeling that it’s only a matter of time before I receive a letter in his unmistakable handwriting.
