We are excited to announce a price reduction for our Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) customers who are utilizing Standard Reserved Instances or EC2 Instance Saving Plans. These changes are effective immediately, meaning that anyone purchasing new RIs or EC2 Instance Saving Plans can benefit from these lower rates.
Our continuous engineering advancements, combined with our operational scale and proven capacity management, enable us to identify and share cost savings with you.
The amount of savings you will receive varies based on the region selected, whether you opt for a 1-year or 3-year term, and the specific instance family included in your agreement. Price reductions can range from 1% up to an impressive 18% compared to previous rates. Below is a summary of some of the savings across M5, C5, and R5 instance types (with free Linux OS). Additionally, price reductions are also available for C5n, C5d, M5a, M5n, M5ad, M5dn, R5a, R5n, R5d, R5ad, R5dn, T3, T3a, Z1d, and A1 instance types.
Savings Overview for Select Instances (Free Linux OS)

It’s important to note that this price reduction does not apply to Convertible Reserved Instances, Compute Saving Plans, or On-Demand instances. Furthermore, instances that incur licensing fees, such as those running Windows, RHEL, and SUSE, will see smaller reductions due to the associated costs.
These price reductions are available across all regions and take effect immediately. Moving forward, you will be charged the new, reduced rates for EC2 services.
