We are thrilled to announce that Amazon Web Services (AWS) has successfully completed its 2023 Cloud Computing Compliance Controls Catalogue (C5) attestation cycle, incorporating 170 services within its scope. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to meet the elevated standards expected from cloud service providers. Customers in Germany and throughout Europe can confidently run their applications on AWS Regions covered by the C5 report, assured of our compliance with C5 requirements.
The C5 attestation framework is supported by the German government and was initiated by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in 2016. AWS has consistently adhered to C5 standards since their inception, assisting organizations in showcasing operational security against prevalent cybersecurity threats while utilizing cloud services in accordance with the German government’s Security Recommendations for Cloud Computing Providers.
An independent third-party audit evaluated AWS from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023. The resulting C5 report details AWS’s compliance status concerning both basic and additional C5 criteria. Customers may access the C5 report via AWS Artifact, a self-service portal for on-demand compliance reports. To get started, log into AWS Artifact through the AWS Management Console or discover more in another blog post here.
