The internet’s backbone is composed of an intricate array of fiber optic cables that transmit data for internet, television, and phone services that many of us rely on daily. Over two days, 33 participants, primarily from Southern Nevada, engaged in the AWS Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing Certificate Course—a complimentary training program featuring lectures and hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and repair. This course took place on November 14-15 at Southern Nevada Community College in Las Vegas, NV, in partnership with the college and the Southern Nevada Planning District Commission.

This funding is intended for accessing cloud services and technologies through CloudBank. PIs can submit requests for AWS Cloud usage on a rolling basis, with funding available for up to one year.
