The anticipation is rising for the fourteenth iteration of AWS re:Invent, taking place once again in the vibrant city of Las Vegas. This year, generative AI and machine learning (ML) will be front and center, featuring exciting keynote presentations and a variety of sessions that showcase insights from AWS professionals, customer experiences, and hands-on interactions with AWS services. As you continue to innovate and collaborate with us to advance generative AI, we’ve put together a diverse array of sessions to support you at every step of your journey. These sessions are thoughtfully organized across multiple learning themes, ensuring there’s something beneficial for everyone, regardless of their experience.

In this attendee guide, we highlight a selection of our preferred sessions to provide you a glimpse of what’s ahead. While browsing the re:Invent catalog, choose your learning topic and use the “Generative AI” interest tag to discover the sessions that are most pertinent to you.

Key Areas of Focus

The technical sessions on generative AI are segmented into six key areas. First, we will shine a light on Amazon Q, the generative AI-powered assistant that is revolutionizing software development and enterprise data usage. These sessions cover Amazon Q Business, Amazon Q Developer, Amazon Q in QuickSight, and Amazon Q Connect, touching on AI/ML, DevOps and Developer Productivity, Analytics, and Business Applications. They illustrate how Amazon Q can enhance your coding, testing, and troubleshooting processes while also maximizing your data to improve business operations. You’ll also delve into AWS App Studio, a generative AI-driven service that empowers builders to swiftly create enterprise-grade applications through natural language, producing intelligent, secure, and scalable apps in mere minutes.

Second, we’ll examine Amazon Bedrock, our fully managed service for developing generative AI applications. Discover how to leverage leading foundation models (FMs) from top industry players and Amazon to create and scale your generative AI applications, as well as customization techniques like fine-tuning and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). We will also cover Amazon Bedrock Agents, capable of executing complex tasks using your company’s systems and data.

Third, we will investigate the robust infrastructure services from AWS driving AI innovation, featuring Amazon SageMaker, AWS Trainium, and AWS Inferentia under AI/ML as well as Compute topics. Learn how SageMaker’s fully managed infrastructure supports high-performance, low-cost ML throughout its lifecycle—from building and training to deploying and managing models at scale. Fourth, we will discuss responsible AI, empowering you to construct generative AI applications with ethical and transparent practices. Fifth, we’ll present various generative AI use cases across different sectors. Finally, prepare for the grand finale of the AWS DeepRacer League, where racers will compete for the ultimate championship. Don’t miss this significant moment in AWS DeepRacer history, as participants will battle it out for the last time.

Engage at the Generative AI Zone

Visit the Generative AI Zone (GAIZ) at AWS Village in the Venetian Expo Hall to engage in hands-on experiences with our latest innovations and to connect with our generative AI and ML experts. Through a series of immersive exhibits, you can gain insights into AWS infrastructure for generative AI, learn about building and scaling generative AI applications, and discover how AI assistants are transforming business operations. While navigating the GAIZ, subject matter experts and Generative AI Innovation Center strategists will be available to share insights, answer queries, present customer stories (including those from HubbleIQ, EBSCOlearning, and Stacklet), and provide personalized guidance for deploying generative AI applications into production. Experience a captivating range of innovative generative AI exhibits at the Generative AI and Innovations Pavilion through interactive displays covering the AWS generative AI stack. Additionally, dive deep into your industry-specific generative AI and ML use cases with our industry specialists at the AWS Industries Pavilion.

Types of Sessions

If this is your first time at re:Invent, you can participate in sessions of the following types:

  • Keynotes – Attend in person or virtually to learn about all the thrilling announcements.
  • Innovation talks – Discover the latest cloud technologies from AWS leaders and see how these advancements can drive your business forward. These sessions will be livestreamed, recorded, and made available on YouTube.
  • Breakout sessions – These 60-minute sessions are designed for a broad audience, are delivered to larger groups, and will be recorded. If you miss them, you can catch them on demand after re:Invent.
  • Chalk talks – Enjoy 60 minutes of content delivered to smaller crowds with interactive whiteboarding sessions. Chalk talks are great for discussions and provide the best opportunity for questions and opinions.
  • Workshops – In these hands-on learning sessions, you’ll build a solution to a problem over 2 hours, and understand the underlying infrastructure and cross-service interactions. Bring your laptop and be prepared to learn!
  • Builders’ sessions – These highly interactive 60-minute mini-workshops are conducted in small groups of fewer than 10 people. Some are suitable for beginners, while others cover specialized topics.
  • Code talks – Similar to our popular chalk talk format, these sessions focus on live coding or code samples rather than architecture solutions. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and follow along.

If you’ve secured your spot for any of the sessions, fantastic! If not, we always reserve some spots for walk-ins, so plan accordingly and arrive early.
