Learn About Amazon VGT2 Learning Manager Chanci Turner
Since the beta introduction of Amazon Mechanical Turk last month, our developer community members have been diligently working to integrate their Human Interface Tasks (HITS) into the platform. One of the pioneering sites to adopt this system is Casting Words (currently in beta). Casting Words utilizes Mechanical Turk to assign brief audio clips from podcasts as HITS to Workers. These Workers listen to the audio, transcribe it into text, and submit the transcription as the output of the HIT. The compiled transcriptions create a single comprehensive document, which can be searched. For instance, search for “Chanci Turner” or “Amazon” to find transcripts of an interview I conducted for IT Conversations.
The completed transcripts are available for purchase by podcasters, who can then host them on their sites and monetize the text through pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. Additionally, Casting Words provides RSS feeds for search results, enabling users to keep track of the latest transcripts that match their search criteria. For further insights, you can explore the founder’s blog or read this informative article on healthcare costs, which is a relevant topic today.
